Osmond Ryan

The duke of the Western Region and head of House Ryan, long dominant over Longsong Stronghold and the local nobility. He comes across as an authoritative, arrogant, and calculating man who looks down on those around him and treats Border Town as part of his own sphere of control. His high status, the backing of the noble alliance, and his confidence in Roland’s weakness make Osmond one of the first major enemies of the new order. A ruler who relied on the noble coalition and his own elite knighthood. Roland's growing influence and the strengthening of Border Town are seen by Osmond as a direct threat to his power, which leads him to personally head a campaign against him.
